Wholesale GT Delivery Acceptance Pack
Your wholesale lot of gas turbines or gensets has crossed oceans and borders to reach you. The moment you sign the delivery acceptance, much of your leverage over damage, missing parts and wrong documents can disappear.
Sign too quickly and you may own a cracked casing, a missing control panel or a crate of the wrong spares, with no easy route to recover the loss and a delay on every project waiting for those units. On a multi-unit lot, a careless acceptance is a risk that can cost more than any price you negotiated.
USP&E Helps You Accept a Wholesale GT Delivery
We know wholesale buyers work to tight margins, and acceptance is where those margins are protected or lost. USP&E has delivered 150+ power projects in 45+ countries, with 25,000 MW contracted since 2002, and our 400+ engineers and project managers inspect wholesale lots on arrival, match serials and documents, and manage damage claims before acceptance is signed. Our systems are ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 certified, and every deal runs under FCPA and OFAC controls. USP&E is a full-service EPC and O&M contractor, not a broker.
Acceptance is a process, not a signature. Inspect, compare, record and only then sign, with every open item written down and dated.
Set Acceptance Criteria Before Shipment
Write acceptance criteria into the purchase contract: what will be inspected, by whom, within what time after arrival, and what counts as damage or a missing item. Agree how open items are handled and who pays to fix them.
Name your inspector and make sure they will be available on the arrival date. A delivery that sits uninspected for weeks weakens any later claim.
Ask for the packing list, preservation records and pre-shipment test results before the lot leaves. You need them to check what arrives.
Agree where acceptance happens. Accepting at the port, at a yard or at the final site changes who carries the risk of damage on the last leg, so match the acceptance point to your insurance cover.
Inspect, Match and Record on Arrival
Inspect your crates, covers and preservation as soon as the lot arrives. Check shock and tilt indicators, look for water inside crates and photograph everything before unpacking.
Match serial numbers on each unit, nameplate and document against the packing list and the title papers. Count your loose parts and spares crate by crate. Ask for anything missing in writing the same day.
Check documents too: manuals, test certificates, preservation logs and export papers. Missing documents can delay installation and resale as much as missing parts. Where a unit will be stored before resale, record its preservation state at acceptance, because the next buyer will ask for it.
Report Damage Fast and Sign With a Punch List
Report any damage to the carrier and insurer at once, in writing, with photos. Many policies and carriage terms set short notice periods, so delay can cost you the claim. Leave the damaged item untouched where you can until the surveyor has seen it.
Sign acceptance only with a dated punch list of open items attached, each with an agreed fix and a responsible party. Then file your acceptance records with the title, shipping and warranty papers.
The same steps protect every lot. A remanufactured GE Frame 6B, verified used/new gas turbines, gas turbine generators and natural gas engines/stations all deserve a careful acceptance, and buyers serving hyperscale EPC/O&M programmes with AI gas turbines, hyperscale generators and gas turbines for compute need clean records before units move on. Deliveries of the New USP&E FX-45 45MW Modular Gas Turbine for the Hyperscale Data Center sector in the USA will be accepted with the same discipline.

FAQ: Wholesale GT Delivery Acceptance Pack
Why does delivery acceptance matter on wholesale lots?
USP&E treats acceptance as the point where much of your leverage over damage, missing parts and wrong documents can be lost. Your signature should follow inspection, serial checks and a written punch list, not come before them, especially on multi-unit lots.
What should acceptance criteria include?
USP&E writes in what will be inspected, by whom, within what time, what counts as damage or a missing item, and how open items are fixed and paid for. You agree these in the purchase contract, so acceptance follows rules instead of arguments.
What should be checked when the lot arrives?
USP&E checks crates, covers, preservation, shock and tilt indicators and water ingress, then matches serials and counts parts against the packing list. You also check manuals, test certificates and export papers, because missing documents can delay your installation, resale and warranty claims.
How should transit damage be handled?
USP&E reports damage to the carrier and insurer at once, in writing, with photos. Your policy and carriage terms may set short notice periods. Acceptance is then signed only with a dated punch list that names the fix and the responsible party for each item.
Where are USP&E’s offices that support wholesale buyers?
USP&E supports wholesale buyers from Johannesburg and Cape Town, close to African ports, with Colorado Springs and Knoxville covering US yards. London handles contracts and finance, and Wuxi supports China manufacturing and export. All offices share one project file for your lot.
Has USP&E delivered wholesale equipment before?
USP&E has refurbished seven GE Frame 6B gas turbines to zero hours in-house for major US hyperscale data-centre developers. USP&E supplied 28 Cummins KTA50 containerised diesel gensets, 1,275 kVA each, for Perseus Mining’s Nyanzaga Gold Project in Tanzania. You can read each case study and check the record.
Is USP&E a broker for wholesale equipment?
USP&E is not a broker. USP&E is a full-service EPC and O&M contractor that inspects, supplies, installs and operates power equipment with its own engineers, so the team that checks your delivery can also install and support the units afterwards.
How fast can USP&E respond on a delivery inspection?
USP&E can start preparing your acceptance checklist as soon as you share the contract, packing list and shipping dates under NDA. Engineers flag missing criteria and documents first, then book the arrival inspection, with timing set by port and yard access.
Sign for What You Actually Received
Get acceptance right and every unit, part and document is checked before you sign. Get it wrong and the first sign is damage you now own and a claim you can no longer make. USP&E will help you inspect, record and accept with confidence.
